Heat Pump Installation Chudleigh: Rebuilt Centre, Off-Grid Farms Nearby
From Fore Street terraces to farms toward Chudleigh Knighton on oil or LPG, no two Chudleigh properties heat the same way. Heat pump installation Chudleigh starts with a room-by-room heat loss survey, so the system is properly sized for your home and heating requirements, grant deducted before you’re invoiced.
James and the team provided a first rate end to end service, our old oil boiler failed on Good Friday and within 3/4 weeks we were up and running with a new energy efficient air source heating system. Totally recommend Eco Pro Renewables Ltd to anyone who asks

What your Chudleigh installation includes
The majority of heat pump complaints trace back to a step skipped at the start, not the equipment itself. Every Chudleigh installation we quote covers:
- The heat loss survey and design. Wall construction, glazing and room use, recorded room by room into a kilowatt figure for your address alone.
- The heat pump and a matched cylinder. An outdoor unit picked for the house, a heat-pump-specific cylinder inside, sized to the household’s hot water use.
- Radiator changes where the numbers ask for them. On a solid rebuilt terrace that can mean two or three larger emitters; on a farm conversion, often none.
- Pipework and electrics. Unit position fixed by the MCS sound calculation.
- Commissioning and optimisation. Tested live and tuned differently for a Fore Street terrace than for a farmhouse toward Chudleigh Knighton.
- The grant application. Filing the claim is our job, netted off before an invoice is raised.
- Handover and aftercare. A run-through of the controls, then the number to ring at the first service.
Underfloor heating sits inside the same scope too, happy at these systems’ low flow temperatures.
Air source heat pump installation Chudleigh: solid town terraces, off-grid farms around them
Fore Street and New Exeter Street carry a rebuilt Georgian terrace look, solid brick and stone through and through, no cavity to fill.
- That fabric behaves nothing like a newer estate house on the edge of town.
Out past that terraced centre, toward Chudleigh Knighton and the Teign valley villages, many properties are still off the gas grid on oil or LPG.
- A heat pump sized for a Fore Street terrace would be wrong for a farmhouse near Trusham.
We’re the MCS-certified air-to-water specialist on Exeter Road, and sizing comes off a room-by-room heat loss survey, never a postcode guess.
Why Chudleigh homeowners choose us
Which installer will still take your call two winters after the job’s finished at your Chudleigh property? That question is worth more than the lowest number on any quote.
The owner runs your job.
- After handover your aftercare calls go to James, who designed the system in the first place.
- He is on the job from the first visit through the fitting and commissioning. Read his background on our about page.

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme pays towards an air-to-water heat pump, and the figure that applies depends on your fuel.

The kit we fit in Chudleigh, and why
Four to ten kilowatts covers most of what we measure, terrace to farmhouse. Where a property calls for something else, the heat loss survey shows it.
We choose the cylinder for your home, as we do the heat pump, and it usually arrives pre-plumbed with its valves and stats fitted.
We fit weather-compensating controls where they add value, and set them up at commissioning.
Because we aren’t locked to one manufacturer, any air source heat pump Chudleigh gets from us is matched to the property and paired with a cylinder that turns up already plumbed, filter and diverter valve fitted at the factory.

A 1930s six-bedroom home with 34 windows
The owners doubted a heat pump could heat an older, larger property. A detailed design running at a low 47 degrees, with seven radiators upgraded and the rest kept, proved it could, comfortably.

The job three installers said could not be done
The owners wanted their hot water cylinder relocated to the garage. Three previous companies refused. We redesigned the pipework and did it, on a 311m² home with uninsulated floors.
Newton Abbot
A period home others had written off
We redesigned and re-piped the entire heating system for low-temperature running, and added radiators to rooms that never had them. “Too old” is usually a design problem, not a dead end.
We install across Devon, including Chudleigh, Exminster, Kenton and Exmouth. Further down the A38, Ashburton sits inside Dartmoor National Park, where slate-hung fronts hide whatever the wall behind is built from. Christow lies just off the B3193 in the Teign Valley, where barely one home in nine has mains gas, and we plan oil and LPG replacements in Christow around that.
Street, Somerset: three installers, three different answers. We designed it correctly.
Before calling us, this homeowner had already had two national installers and another company out, and been handed completely conflicting advice, one proposing an oversized 16kW system, another saying the property was not suitable for a heat pump at all. Our room-by-room heat loss survey showed the home was suitable, but nowhere near the 16kW that had been quoted. We sized it correctly, upgraded only the radiators that genuinely needed it, and fitted an Ideal Logic Air matched to the actual heat loss rather than the quote sheet.
What Chudleigh callers ask before they book
That depends on the Chudleigh property’s size, its radiators and how it makes hot water, which is why we open with a free home assessment, not a price list.
Book my free home assessmentAn eligible Chudleigh owner-occupier can qualify for £7,500 once a fossil fuel system comes out. Off the gas grid on oil or LPG, common toward Knighton, a home can instead qualify for £9,000, on applications lodged by 31 March 2027.
Book my free home assessmentMostly mains gas in the town centre. Head toward Chudleigh Knighton and the Teign valley villages and gas gives way to oil and LPG. We confirm which applies at the free home assessment.
Book my free home assessmentA Chudleigh installation runs roughly a week, usually starting Monday and commissioned Thursday or Friday, on one job at a time from start to finish.
Book my free home assessmentYes, once it’s designed for the wall rather than around it. A Chudleigh terrace and a Teign valley farmhouse both get a heat loss survey before anything is specified, and that survey decides the system.
Book my free home assessmentSometimes. A heat pump runs at a gentler flow temperature than a boiler, so a handful of radiators in an older Chudleigh property may need to grow. The heat loss survey names them.
